GALLERY: Salt Mine Turned into a Gigantic Museum in Romania

Not long ago we wrote about 10 fairytale places in Romania – here we go again with an article this time. In the interior of a very old salt mine Salina Turda in Transylvania (Romania) is situated the largest museum (worldwide!).

In order to go there you need to descent at least 400 feet under the ground to visit it. In the museum you can find a 180-seat amphitheatre, a carousel, a ping pong area, a basketball court, bowling and a mini golf.

According to WikiSalina Turda is a salt mine located in Durgău-Valea Sărată area of Turda, second largest city in Cluj County, Romania. Since its opening in 1992, Salina Turda has been visited by about 2 million Romanian and foreign tourists. “H/T”: weezbo
